We understand the risks associated with having a website that gives students unrelenting speech at our institution. However, we also believe that students have a right and responsibility to enact their first amendment rights, even if it's against administration.

Students demand transparency as it pertains to the financial status of the university and how fiscal year items are prioritized with IHL.

Policy Change

We believe some of our institution's policies could be more progressive and enfranchise a larger demographic of students if adjusted to meet modern demands.

By organizing the collective thoughts and frustrations of students and faculty, we hope to foster a climate that encourages political activism and peaceful public demonstrations.

The only thing the interim president cares about is photo ops! They make her appear to be doing something, but we aren’t fooled. Most of the pics are based on other people’s accomplishment. The others are staged so she looks like she’s involved. Let’s not mention the Southern dancer in Student Affairs. No wonder housing is a mess!!

The housing situation at Jackson State has been beyond frustrating. Every single year it feels like there’s a new hurdle, a new issue, a new level of uncertainty for students who are just trying to have a stable place to live. No offense, but what exactly is the staff doing? Because catering to students needs clearly isn’t being prioritized. How are we expected to be successful, to stay focused, to balance school, work, and life… when we don’t even know if we’ll have a place to rest our heads? That’s not just inconvenient, it’s extremely stressful, it’s overwhelming, and honestly, it’s unacceptable. I’m over it!

The interim president is single-handedly ruining the school. She did nothing as the provost and overlooks numerous complaints about her associate provost. She has the same poor leadership style as the interim president. The entire cabinet lacks substantial higher education leadership experience. The CFO hired his own daughter, nepotism at its finest. A chief of staff that has minimal involvement with anything on campus. This housing situation is only a small piece of the major problem. We lack leadership.
